Safeguarding children in sport
The Importance of Our Project
Building a Safe Environment for Young Athletes
Child safeguarding is a critical responsibility for organizations, ensuring the safety of children in all aspects of their operations. In the realm of sports, this responsibility extends to creating environments free from harm and abuse, implementing robust safeguarding procedures, and providing support for children facing challenges. However, the transition from policies to action remains a challenge for many National Olympic Committees.
Our project, ‘Safeguarding children in sport’ (GUARD), addresses this by establishing Child Safeguarding Officer structures within national sport systems, facilitating practical implementation to protect young athletes.
