Module 3 of the GUARD – Safeguarding Children in Sport Pilot Educational Programme has been successfully delivered in Lithuania on 13 April 2026, marking another important milestone in the implementation of the training programme for Child Safeguarding Officers.
The module was carried out smoothly, with a high level of engagement and collaboration among participants. The session covered key safeguarding topics, including:
- safeguarding policies and procedures
- reporting and response mechanisms
These presentations, delivered by the NOC Child Safeguarding Officer Agnė Vanagienė, were very well received and sparked meaningful discussions among participants, reflecting both the relevance and importance of the topics.
Strengthening Partnerships
In line with the programme, the module also focused on establishing and strengthening partnerships. This segment encouraged practical, hands-on discussions on how to:
- deepen knowledge within safeguarding systems
- identify concrete steps for building effective collaborations
- enhance cooperation between relevant stakeholders
Participants actively contributed by sharing their experiences, approaches, and ideas for working with partners in their respective environments.
Final Pilot Session Across the Consortium
Overall, the delivery of Module 3 in Lithuania was a clear success. The high level of interaction, openness, and exchange among participants demonstrates the growing commitment to strengthening safeguarding systems in sport.
This session also marks the final pilot educational delivery among all project partners, completing an important phase of the GUARD training programme at European level.
