With strong commitment and active participation, the National Olympic Committee of North Macedonia successfully launched on 24 June The Module 1 of the Child Safeguarding Officers (CSOs) Training, organized within the Erasmus+ GUARD project. The initiative is part of a broader European effort to build a safe and inclusive environment for children in sport.
The training covered three key topics essential for the role of CSOs:
- Basics of Child Safeguarding in Sports
- National Legal Regulations on Child Safeguarding
- Roles and Responsibilities of Child Safeguarding Officers in Sport
The event gathered representatives from national sports federations, whose active involvement and evident interest underscored the growing awareness and readiness to improve child safeguarding practices in sport. Through interactive sessions and practical discussions, participants enhanced their understanding of how to recognize, address, and prevent any form of abuse, neglect, or violence against children in the sports environment.
This initiative marks a significant milestone in empowering sports professionals in North Macedonia to act as advocates and protectors of child athletes’ rights.
