More than 30 Child Safeguarding Officers Completed the Educational Module 3 in Romania

With over 30 participants present at the final module in Bucharest on 20 February, the event once again confirmed the commitment, responsibility and involvement of the first generation of Child Safeguarding Officers who actively contribute to building a safer sports environment for children and young people.

The final module aimed to strengthen the institutional framework and provide practical tools for implementing protection procedures within sports federations and organizations. The agenda included:

  • Policies and procedures regarding child protection in sport
  • Reporting mechanisms and case management procedures
  • Developing partnerships and inter-institutional cooperation

Particular emphasis was placed on the practical application of safeguarding procedures, clarity of steps to follow in situations of concern, and collaboration with relevant actors at national level.

By completing the three educational modules, the participants completed a training program developed within the WP3 – Education and Training Framework, with the aim of defining training standards and creating a sustainable education model for Child Safeguarding Officers.

The presence of over 30 participants in the final module highlights the recognition of child protection as a strategic priority in the Romanian sports system. Their constant participation throughout the three modules demonstrates a real commitment to the role of CSO and the willingness to assume responsibilities within sports federations and organizations. Participants who successfully completed all three modules were awarded certificates, symbolically marking the end of the pilot training phase.
