The GUARD project continues to successfully meet its milestones, with Work Package 3 Education and training framework progressing according to the established timeline. One of the most significant recent achievements is the finalisation of the content for Educational Module 1, which has been shared with the entire consortium.
The development of Module 1 was a true collaborative effort, bringing together the expertise and commitment of all consortium members. The process was overseen by two distinguished child safeguarding experts, dr. sc. Zrinka Greblo Jurakić and doc. dr. sc. Ana Žnidarec Čučković, ensuring that the module is scientifically grounded, practical, and tailored to the needs of sport organizations across Europe.
Importantly, the work on Module 1 builds upon the foundations laid in Work Package 2, specifically the draft deliverables D2.1 Guidance and procedures to safeguard and protect children in sport organizations and D2.2 Set of resources for Child Safeguarding Officers (CSOs) in sport organizations. This continuity ensures that the GUARD project maintains a coherent and impactful approach toward developing a robust safeguarding system within national sport contexts.
Now that Module 1 has been finalised, the material has been distributed to consortium members for translation into their respective national languages. This step is critical to ensure the accessibility and effective implementation of the education and training activities across all participating countries.
The educational program is structured into three key sessions:
- Module 1 will be delivered by June 2025 within each national context.
- Module 2 is scheduled for October 14, 2025, in Zagreb, where all participants from the consortium will gather for a transnational training session.
- Module 3 will be implemented by February 2026 in each partner country
The first delivery of Module 1 will kick off in Croatia, where national federations have already been informed about the programme details. The session is scheduled for May 23, 2025, marking an important milestone for Croatian sport organizations on their journey toward stronger child safeguarding standards.
Dates for the other consortium countries will be announced soon, as the project team continues to prepare for the rollout across Europe.
